Brought to the US in 1929 from Sapporo, Japan, and grown in New Mexico for many years thereafter.

Description
Growth:
Maturity Group I. 65-110 days to maturity; 85 on average. Small plant from 1-2 feet tall. Day-length neutral. Germinates well in cool weather.

Small and round. Yellow or yellow-green with a chocolate-brown saddle around the hilum.
