== Name and History ==
Introduced in the 1850s from England where it goes by alternate name Half Pint.  Both names refer to the small size of the plants; Tom Thumb is the name of a character from a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Thumb fairy tale].

== Uses ==
Delicious fresh shelling pea.  Size makes it a good candidate for containers or window boxes.  

== Description ==

<u>Growth:</u> 
A real miniature that doesn't require staking and tops out at 10 inches.  Will bear at only 4 inches tall.

Round and unwrinkled.  Dried seeds are green or buff.
