Name and History

From France, 1885 or earlier. Means "Countess of Chambord" in French, and was probably named after Marie-Thérèse de Modène, wife of Henri of Artois, once a claimant to the French throne and disputedly king for a week. Also known as Rice Bean due to the size and color of the seeds.

Uses

Tender little snap beans, or quick-cooking dry beans.

Description

Growth: Bush to a foot tall.

Flowers:

Pods: Green, round, small.

Seeds: Small shiny white seeds.
