Name and History

Bred by the USDA and introduced in Beltsville, Indiana in or prior to 1945. Fordhook 242 is an improved version of Fordhook, which was created by famous seedsman W. A. Burpee and named after his family home and experimental farm, Fordhook Farm, which is in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
